Hiring an employee for your organization can be real difficult if you don’t know the basics of HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT. You may hire the wrong employee and may face a terrible loss at your company. In this article we will try to help you know the basics of HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT and how to hire the BEST person for your job.

First of all you need to know what exactly is HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT? The process of acquiring, selecting, training, appraising and compensating an employee for your job is known as HUMAN RESOUCE MANAGEMENT. So here we can see there are 5 steps in hiring the best candidate for your firm or company who can do your job perfectly.

Acquiring: The first and foremost step of hiring a new person is to post jobs. Now posting jobs can be of two types. For the blue collar people you can post jobs at the newspaper or posters. But for the white collar job positions you cannot post job articles at the newspaper or posters. You must post the job on sites like LinkedIn.com or freelancer.com or upwork.com or maybe at other popular job sites. Now by these you have attracted a lot of job candidates.

Selecting: By giving the job advertisement you may have got around thousand of applicants. But it is not possible to hire that much applicants right? Your company or firm probably has only vacancy for two person or maybe five or maybe ten but definitely you cannot hire thousands of candidate. So here starts the most crucial part of the hiring process that is selecting the candidate.

Job Description: It is a part where you tell the candidates what type of job the candidate is up for. Basically the responsibilities of the candidate. It may be working 9am to 5pm. Doing the accounts. Manage the payments of other employees etc. Whatever your firm basically requires.

Job Specification: It is the part where you select a boundary for the employees. It can be educational requirement, experience, extra curricular activities etc suitable for the job.

Now as you have thousands of CV in your hand you cannot just call all the applicants and take interviews from them. It will be very much time consuming, less cost efficient and really tiring for everyone. So you will have to filter the candidates based on the job description and job specification. You have to go through the applicant CV and see if the candidate is meeting all the demand of the Job description and Job specification. Then you may call the few chosen applicants for the interview and after that you may select the person based on how does the interview goes.

Training: The third step of hiring the best employee for your company is to give training to the employee. Although you are very much impressed of the candidate`s profile and interview but you cannot just give him the position right after interview. You cannot expect the employee to start his work for your firm and ace it just after the interview board. You need to give the employee proper training for his job. The training may depend on the employees talent. He may learn the job in ten days or maybe in one month or maybe in three month. It is also your responsibility to make the training session more lively, interesting and effective for the new employee. After ending the training session you may put him into observation sector if he is doing the things right or wrong.

Appraising: After the training is over, the employees are posted into their relevant fields according to your firm. But your job as a HR Manager is not yet finished. Basically Appraisal is the process of assessing an employee`s job performance and determining his or her suitability for future assignments. The appraisal process typically includes the review of the employee`s work history, job duties and performance against specific goals and objectives. You need to observe the employee`s performance and also give him or her feed-backs too about what is going wrong. If the employee is doing good then you should highlight that as well. It will give the employee more motivation to work and do better.

Compensating: Compensating generally means paying the employee for the work. It is a must for you and the employee both. You have to pay the right amount to the employee for their work. Besides Salary and wages there are Other two compensation process. One is festive bonus and the other is Overtime Pay. Most companies do not have festive bonus which is totally wrong. Everyone has a life and festivals are a part of it. So probably think of gibing festive bonus. Besides the overtime payment should be given to the employee because he or she is putting extra efforts for your firm or company. Maybe if you don’t give the right amount, you may lose the best employee for the job.
